July Issue 2020 First Edition - “Xclusive with Xtian de Medici”
A Behind The Scenes Interview That Discusses Everything From What Inspires Xtian To What His Latest Project is Like With Lady Gaga!
MM: What is your biggest accomplishment in Fashion to date?
XM: I’ve designed for a lot of for stars, but I would have to say, designing for Lady Gaga has to be my biggest accomplishment to date. There are no limits when designing for Gaga, she is completely awe inspiring! Imagine working with a client where there’s no limits, you are free to be as imaginative as one can be. Of course, she has her own ideas, but she gives you all the room you need to create! Take for instance the helmet I just designed for her new “Chromatica” album cover artwork. I had at most 5 days to complete and send to the shoot location. All that was said to me is that an alien like mask was needed and the sky was the limit in design. So, for that next 48 hours I just blindly went at it and before long, I was finished with a helmet/visor that was sort of a hybrid between organic and technological. The bottom portion would be her face and from the eyes up would morph from an eye shield to a bug like helmet with tentacles.
MM: What is your dream project?
XM: I’m so blessed….. I am, right now in my dream job since January of this year. I have been designing all these amazing costumes for Lady Gaga and it would be my dream project to be asked to be part of the design team for her concert and tour.
